A PRACTICAL LEADERSHIP JOURNEYFOR SCIENTIFIC LEADERS

The Leadership Shift

Your expertise got you here. What is asked of you now is broader. Scientific leaders are trusted for their judgement, expertise and standards. The next step is to extend that impact beyond your own work: making decisions through uncertainty, aligning people around direction, influencing beyond your function and creating the conditions for others to succeed. This journey is built for scientific leaders who need to lead expert teams, build leadership below them and enable excellence at scale.

What you will be able to do after the journey

  • Lead with more confidence, clarity and leadership presence
  • Shift from being the expert to enabling expertise in others
  • Build high-trust teams where candour, standards and accountability coexist
  • Make sharper decisions when the data is incomplete and opinions clash
  • Navigate tension, complexity and difficult conversations with more intention
  • Influence cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority
  • Build leadership depth in others without becoming the bottleneck
