Dr Sami Hamid is the major shareholder and CEO of the private equity company Altamont. He formerly was the CEO of Neumann Ward Howell; Dr Sami Hamid has been in the Executive Search business since 1986, acting as Managing Partner for Boyden International in Austria and H. Neumann International in Germany. He joined Ward Howell as Founding Partner for Central and Eastern Europe in 1992 and became Managing Partner of Ward Howell, responsible for the offices in Vienna, Zurich, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Bucharest and Ljubljana.
In 2006 he initiated the acquisition of Neumann International AG and became CEO of the combined companies, merging them into Europe's 5th biggest executive search company with 30 offices in 20 countries. In 2007 he sold his participation, withdrew from the operational business and assumed a role in the Board of Directors. Prior to his executive search experience, he worked as Senior Associate for EFS, an international strategy consulting company both in the U.S. and in Europe. He began his professional career as Area Manager/Far East with Raiffeisen Zentralbank. Sami holds a PhD in Law from the University in Vienna.
